John Moriarty, an artist, taken from his people at four years of age, founded Balarinji while leading the fight for Aboriginal rights. His mission of teaching pride and knowledge of their special heritage took flight with the beautiful Wanala Dreaming Quantas 747 jet. Aboriginal design is now an important element of internationally recognized Australian culture. Balarinji, which is the tribe name of John’s two sons, introduces authentic Aboriginal designs to quilt shops for the first time under license to Andover Fabrics in 2004.
